Photos for this date

Not much happened today. Mamaw and Nicholas headed to the pool in the morning. When I saw the bathing suit that Mamaw had bought at Target for Nicholas, I almost decided to not let him go. I am pretty sure that this suit is intended for little girls. It is unmanly aqua in color and fits like like a female 'one-piece'. As if that weren't bad enough, it had inflatable inserts (one for the back and one for the front) that just made him look pitiful. Please see the picture, as I cannot describe it adequately....except to say that it is the worst bathing suit I have ever seen.

James and Claire pretty much did the same old thing today. Not much progress, but no regression either. They got moved again, largely in part to the fact that there are now 57 infants in the NICU.

I may as well take some time today to note that my sister Leslie is due with her first child any day now. It is a girl. 'Baby Q' is what she has been called during her gestational period. I added a photo of her latest sonogram to the pictures. We are very excited for Baby Q to arrive. I also know the top two front-runner names for Baby Q. I guess that this is as good a forum as any to tell you that the name will either be Gertrude Apple Quinlivan or Beatrix Potter Quinlivan....both beautiful family names.

My sister Lauren flew in tonight and immediately asked us all to examine her foot, which has some sort of ailment. Christy, Mamaw and I have all taken a look, and have each come up with our own highly educated medical opinions:

Mamaw thinks: It was an infected splinter that has since been exfoliated from the body by splinter-fighting proteins

Christy thinks: It was a spider bite and the stinger was still inside. Either that or a bee.

Greg thinks: It is definitely a fungus of some kind. She has always been a breeding ground for fungus, mushrooms, and insect larvae.

I have attached pictures of the foot. Please feel free to e-mail her your diagnosis at nannalauren@gmail.com
